CBS Unveils Yio Chu Kang Bus Plan

With the Yio Chu Kang Bus Plan done, CBS would like to launch the following services from Yio Chu Kang Terminal. They will start operating on Sunday, 6th June 2004.

CBS has exclusive rights to operate KMB Buses

CBS had signed an agreement with Kowloon Motor Bus, a major bus company in Hong Kong on 24th May 2004 for CBS to have exclusive rights to buy and use KMB buses on Singapore's roads.

Soon, Singaporeans will be able to see Wright Olympian 3 axle and Dennis Dart 10.8m in Singapore come late June 2004. The fate of where these buses will be based at still remains a mystery.

At a press conference, CBS CEO COpStrike says,"It's a good tie-up between both companies to exchange bus ideas and co-operate the same bus models in both Hong Kong and Singapore. I'm looking forward into this partnership"

KMB President and CEO couldnt agree more.

In return, KMB gets to operate 50 Volvo Super Olympian with Volgren bodywork come July 2004. These buses will be built and assembled in Singapore before being sent to HK for revenue usage. These 50 dudes will not be operating as citybuses in Singapore.

Introduction of CBS56

Introduction of CBS80

With effect from Monday, 31st May 2004, CBS80 be launched as a Hougang - Jurong East semi-express service via Hougang, Serangoon North and Jurong West/East Ave 1. This provides direct links between the North East and the West.

Handover of 3 Eunos Services

CBS is proud to announce the handover of 3 of its Eunos services to TransCorp. The handover will take effect from Tuesday, 1st June 2004. This is to give newcomer TransCorp a head-start into the Transport Business in Singapore.

The 3 services that will be run under TransCorp are

CBS58: Eunos - Airport Rd (Loop)
CBS59: Eunos - Ubi Ind Estate (Loop)

Purchase of new Merz CNG OC.500LE with Volgren Bodywork

CBS is pleased to announce the purchase of the above-mentioned buses. These buses will hit the roads by late-June and ALL of them will be based in JEDEP. JEDEP will also have its own Natural Gas refuelling station in the depot itself.

The first delivery of the buses will be in from Perth, Australia by Saturday 15th May 2004. The buses will have to undergo tests so that each of them would be deemed suitable to be put on the roads.

P.S: Exact numbers are still not known. However, at least 40 will be brought to Singapore from Perth.

Update on Nicoll Hghway Diversion

With effect from Monday 10th May 2004, CBS12 CBS14 CBS32 and CBS21 will be rerouted accordingly with the opening of Crawford Underpass last week.

In addition, the pair of bus stops that is near Golden Mile Twr will be brought 100m forward to outside the Concourse so that commuters and board and alight at this bus stop.

CBS12 CBS14 CBS32-
Towards City: Mountbatten Rd, Geylang Rd, Kallang Rd, Crawford St, Republic Ave, Nicoll Highway and continue via normal route

From City: Nicoll Highway, Republic Ave, Crawford St, Kallang Rd, SIms Ave, Geylang Lor 1, Mountbatten Rd and continue via normal route.

CBS21-
Will be rerouted back to its original route via Crawford Underpass to/from Marina Centre.

Amendment of CBS15

With effect from Saturday, 8th May 2004, CBS15, which plies between Bedok & Kent Ridge via New Upp Changi Rd, will be amended to ply via Chai Chee St and Chai Chee Dr. This is to give Chai Chee residents direct access to Kembangan MRT, Old Airport Estate and town areas. All other operating details and route remains unchanged.

Extension of CBS44

With effect from Wednesday, 5th May 2004, CBS44 will be extended to Eunos Interchange via Bedok North Rd, Bedok Reservoir Rd and Jln Eunos. This service will call at Bedok Interchange in both directions. It will also call at 2 bus stops along Bedok Reservoir Rd in both directions. Direction plates will be in front to assist commuters in taking the correct direction.

CBS is a fantasy bus company based in Singapore. It was founded by CEO COpStrike on 1st February 2004. Its aim is to provide a better level of public transport services in Singapore. Its maidian service, CBS20, was officially launched on 15th February 2004 with 34 buses in operation.
